Celebrate the difference - Diversity

Local Government and the NHS strive to reflect the many different communities it serves. There is no place for discrimination on the grounds of race or ethnicity, disability, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age or working patterns. That's why positive efforts are always made to recruit staff from the many diverse sections of society and all staff are treated fairly.

Diversity within the NHS

Healthcare is a challenging arena, but the rewards have no boundaries.

In a few years time, you could be working at the cutting edge of healthcare science or helping people cope with injuries, disabilities or emotional problems through your work as one of the many different kinds of therapists.

Nursing offers a hugely varied and rewarding career whether nursing adults, children, or those with mental health and learning disabilities. Or perhaps you'd like to make every day a birthday by training to become a midwife?

There are roles for technicians, managers, IT and health informatics specialists, even electricians and plumbers! There's not much you can do outside the NHS that you couldn't do inside it - whatever you choose, you'll be part of the thousands of teams of people helping others to get back on their feet.
